The Coach and Horses - Ale and Food House
Food & Drink
Our ethos here at the Coach is this: keep it simple. Not for us the typical gastro pub tactic of attempting
to blind you with fancy words and dishing up uninspiring fare. No, we would rather call a spade a spade and serve you a dish to remember.
Our other rule of thumb is if we don't make it ourselves, on the premises, we don't sell it *. This applies to chips to desserts to sauces to soups and so on. So if you are eating it here, it is 'home made'. Oh, and all ingredients are free range, trans fats free, GM free and all the rest of it. Only the best at the Coach.
* the exceptions being our 'bar snacks' ( Salty Dog crisps, Biltong, Olives and Nuts )
2011 - Updated Menus
We've updated the menus at The Coach and Horses. Same rules as ever at the Coach - all fresh stuff made on site from the best quality ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible.
Oh, and make sure you check our blackboards for the current 'specials'.
Please note all menus below open as a PDF file in a separate window. You will need Adobe Reader installed to be able to view them.

Wine
We picked our wines using the following criteria: we tasted a load and the ones we liked best went on the list. Simple as that.
NB. We sell our wines by the bottle and in 125ml & 250 ml glasses.
Wine List
Beer
We take beer very seriously here at the Coach, primarily because we like it. So we have a selection of 4 real ales, constantly changing to keep things interesting. We do a lot of research ( i.e., tasting ) to make sure we find interesting little breweries that make beer we think you would like. Again, if there is an ale you think we should stock, please don't hesitate to tell us.
Lager
We are not completely Real Ale snobs, we do take care of our Lagers too. You will find the likes of Peroni, Staropramen, Kronenbourg, Heineken, and Fosters, all on draught, served well chilled and where possible served in their own branded glasses.
Cider
Magners, Bulmers, Stowford Press are our current representatives on the draught Cider front. Wide mouthed glasses and as much ice as you want.
And of course Guinness as you would expect it to be served.
Pitchers available. Sangria and Pimm's by the jug for those sunny days.
